Not again!

So.. Yeah, I’ve done it again.  Didn’t I just say I was going to post more often before???  Oh gosh.  But at least this time I have an actual reason why I’m not posting as often as I like to.  Well lets list them off:

1.  Piano!!! I need to start practicing more…

2.  Theory.  There’s this music course I’m doing right now for the Royal Conservatory of Music and it’s called History 2: Middle ages to Classical… and the exam for it is in like… less than a month and I don’t know ANYTHING!!!!

3.  School!!  Exam season is almost here… I feel like my marks aren’t high enough, MUST STUDY.

4.  I am about to move in about… 5 days?  I must pack up.

So  yeah… There are my excuses of why I’m not here more often.  Are they legit?

The Art of Blogging

Blogging is all about expressing your feelings, getting down to earth with what you wanna say and… well being you.  People say the followers don’t matter, because what they really want to do is just blog.  I don’t think that’s true, not for me anyways.  Honestly, what is the point of sitting here typing all this up when no one is even going to read it?  All it makes me feel like… is I dunno, a nobody… D:  I love blog.com and all, but what it’s really missing is the follow button, lot’s of blogs have it… like tumblr, twitter, blogspot, and… others I can’t name right now.  So, if you didn’t know, I have a blogspot (which I never use)  and I’m kind of thinking of moving blogs.  Just because there’s more of a chance that someone will actually read the post (because blogspot is actually more… famous than blog.com and because of the “follow”)  If you think about it, a lot of the blogs that make it big are from blogspot, and maybe having something to blog about helps too… :P

I’ll update you on my final decision.

Wow… I’m apathetic.

So yeah, anyone who reads this blog might notice I haven’t posted in the LONGEST TIME EVER.  Not that anyone reads this stuff anyways… :/  But anyways, I’m just going to tell y’all why I’m not posting this…  And it’s just because I’m such a lazy bum and I feel like I don’t want to do anything so instead I waste my time doing things that are boring and unimportant like wasting my life away on the computer.  Like Tumblr for example, it’s addicting, I know, but really people call it blogging, but I think it should just be called reblogging because most of the people on Tumblr don’t actually post real pictures that they took themselves or write real things that they wrote themselves.  The art of real blogging is too hard to master, and honestly, I think unless you have a lot to talk about and a lot of time and a lot of  passion, it’s too difficult to keep this up.  I think many people just give up and have fading posts getting more and more distant, like I do.

So, I’m taking this as a new page, I’m starting over again, this time… I’ll actually try to do this properly…  But first, I think I should get more things to actually talk about, besides my life, because that’s pretty boring…

You know what sucks??  My connection just died meaning I can’t post this… meaning my apathy might take over again and this will never get posted…

But, never fear, blog-readers, I will not fail my self and you this time!

Science Lab!!!

Hi y’all!! :)

Today we did some totally fun stuff in science…  We made… elastic polymers!!!!  Hehehe… you probably don’t even know what that is, right…?  Well, in simpler words, it’s just this plasticy thing that bounces when you throw it.  Kind of like that Silly Putty stuff.  So… anyways, I thought I’d just show you how to make this ball of awesomeness.  Here are the exact words on which I’ve written on my paper for today’s lab:

The Polymer Lab

Purpose- to synthesize an elastic polymer.

Materials:

  1. Elmer’s School Glue, diluted 50% with water (or I think any school glue would be fine)
  2. Saturated borax solution (sodium borate)  (Borax is some powder that you use to make your white clothes whiter… and to get a saturated solution you put as much of it as you can (if not even more) of borax in water and then heat it up and try to add even more borax into it, then put it in the fridge over night and in the morning skim off the liquid.  Now you will know that the solution is saturated.)
  3. Cereal bowl (we used disposable ones)
  4. Stir sticks
  5. Graduated cylinder (or any old measuring cup will do fine, I think, but remember, wash the carefully afterward!!!)
  6. Small beaker (again with the measuring cup thing…)
  7. Acrylic paint (this is an option, if you want you “goo” to have colour)

Forming the Super Gummy Ball

  1. Measure out 50ml of glue/water mixture in a small beaker and add that to the bowl.
  2. Add a small amount of acrylic paint to the the glue and stir for one minute.  (or until it looks nice)
  3. Measure out 15ml of borax solution in the graduated cylinder.
  4. Add borax to the glue/paint mixture and stir like heck!!

Yes, yes, my science teacher really did tell us to stir like heck… :)  After you add the borax in, you will find that your mixture is solidifying.  After you think you can’t stir anymore, pick it up with your hand and start forming it into a ball.  Once you think you’re done… BOUNCE IT!!!!!

I don’t know how long this bouncy stuff lasts… But it sure is fun to just sit there watching bouncing glops fly around… :D

Halloween???

Many Christians today, or “Christians” today think dressing up tomorrow is a bad thing.  They think it is honouring the Devil.  Well, I just thought I’d give you guys my opinion on this.

I’m Christian and I think there is nothing wrong with dressing up on Halloween.  Note, I said dressing up.  I don’t know anyone that does creepy stuff like worship the Devil or anything on Halloween, so this is why I say dress up.  Dressing up is a fun thing to do, I think.  Halloween for most of us kids is a fun, chilly night filled with candy.  I don’t see the reason in why I can’t or shouldn’t go trick-or-treating.

Personally, I think Halloween is an excuse to having fun. :)  But according to http://www.halloween-website.com/history.htm  Halloween was created to honour the dead.  I don’t think that sounds that bad.  To me it just sounds like they’re spending some time with loved ones that passed.  Correct me if I’m wrong on this.  Some cultures even believed that souls from the dead roamed in the streets, and on that night, gifts and treats were given to get rid of the evil souls.  Hm, it doesn’t sound all that bad to me.  I’ve peeked at other sites that have some Halloween history on it, and basically they say the same thing.

To sum this up, I really don’t see the harm that takes place by just dressing up and going trick-or-treating.

PS:  I realize that this is probably not written in the best essay form… But whatever, this was just off the top of my head.  Hope this makes sense to y’all.

Music Horror Story

Hey!  I haven’t posted for a while… but my friends and I wrote a story in music class.  The idea behind it was to write a story and then compose music for it.  I just thought I would share the story with  y’all.  Here it is:

Connie was alone in Starbucks waiting for her boyfriend Anthony. He was an hour and a half late again. Her phone rang, it was Anthony, he said, “Sorry, Concon, I can’t make it today. Maybe tomorrow, O.K?” “Yeah, it’s fine, Anty. I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.”  She let out a growl, she was stood up the third time this week, out of rage, she threw her phone against the wall, people gave her funny looks but she didn’t care. She dropped everything and stormed out of Starbucks blinded by rage.

Anthony hung up the phone, walked up the driveway, flowers in hand, and rang the doorbell. He was answered by a “Hey Cupcake.” And with a quick kiss and a hug, he entered the house. “Hey, Katie! What’s up?”

Suddenly, the computer came to life and said, “You have one new message.” Katrina walked to the computer. It was a message from Connie that read, “Hey y’all. You are invited to my epic costume party tomorrow night at 8:00 pm. See you there!”

While Connie was putting the finishing touches on her make-up, her doorbell rang, she looked at the time, it was 8:00, and her guests had arrived. She opened the front door. It was Anthony. “Hey Concon, you look so hot tonight!” he said.   As other partiers entered her house, she noticed that he was wearing all black with a humongous mask. “Be right back,” Anthony said without a backward glance.

Later that night as Connie was talking to her guests, she scanned the room for Anthony. No sigh of him. She walked out to the porch and noticed an unfamiliar couple on the swing set. It was Anthony’s costume. The silhouette showed that the two people were practically glued together. Connie could take no more, she ran back into her house. She was seething in anger; she knew something was up with him. She hated him. “I HATE YOU!!!” she screamed inside her bedroom.

Then she had a brilliant idea, perhaps her best yet. She grabbed her handy pocket knife and stalked outside. Connie was going to do it; she was going to murder him with her own hands.

“Cupcake?” whispered Katrina. “Mmmm…Katie?” murmured Anthony. “I hear something.” “No worries, probably just a squirrel.”

“Or maybe it’s just your other girlfriend, you cheater!” hissed Connie. “I HATE YOU!!!!” she screamed as she plunged the life out of both of them. It was done, they were dead.

She lifted the mask of the dead girl. It was her best friend, Katrina.

With Halloween coming up soon… I think this is appropriate.  Hope you enjoyed. :)

High School–> Week 1

Yeah.   So the first week of high school is over for me.  I know this is about when I start gushing about how awesome it was but… really??  It was uneventful and boring.  I did not learn ANYTHING.  I dislike my English teacher.  She treats the class as if we are little children that don’t know how to write complete sentences.  You know what kind of teacher I don’t like?  The kind that goes over everything twice and then repeats it again and again and AGAIN.  I am worried about science.  We haven’t started anything yet.  I know what you’re thinking  It’s only the first week of school, you’re not supposed to learn anything.   Yeah, I know.  But still, he get’s so off topic, so easily swayed by he’s students that he barely has time to do anything.  Well… that’s not true… But every other class seems to have started.  This is something I don’t like in my school.  Every teacher seems so intent on using loose leaf.  -.- Notebooks are so much better.

The only thing I’m liking so far is music.  Music is awesome.  So if I weren’t liking it, there would be something wrong.  I am NOT looking forward to semester 2 because there will be no music everyday, and on top of that, I will have to go through PHYSICAL EDUCATION.  I am doomed.  Will keep you updated on further misery.

Bye-bye Sadness

As you know, on Wednesday 29th, 2011 it was the last day of school.  There are always these people that end up crying.  I don’t get why because most of them are going to see each other in a few months anyway.  If anything, it should be the people leaving that are crying.  Like me, for example.  But, strangely I felt kind of happy to leave.

You hear me complaining about my school, about how horrible it is there.  There are some really crappy people there, I’ll admit, but there are some real cool peeps there too.  About nine hours later, I’m laying in bed thinking, “Damn, I’m going to miss the people at WJHS a lot.”  Not only that, it felt like I had completely wasted my Grade 8 year.  There are so many people that I wanted to get to know better.  But, sadly I didn’t notice that until school ended.

I know what you’re thinking, “Well, isn’t there something called Facebook?”  Yes, I’ve thought about that before, but, what happens to those that don’t have Facebook?!  It’s not like you go on everybody’s wall and type “‘Sup?” because guess what?  You’re going to get 5, 000, 000 responses back saying “Np, u?”

I’ll take this as a reminder to seize the day.  Carpe diem.  I should seize the chance to get to know people better, before it’s too late.

  36. Remember something I memorized the next day.
  37. Go to sleep at 11pm and wake up at 7am without feeling tres tired.
  38. Understand why people dress up as angels on Halloween.
  39. Understand how people don’t get now to do the simple theory questions in school.

Mother’s day Poem

This is the poem that Chris wrote (the better version.)  For the original, go look at the post before this one.

Here it is:

When God set the world in place,
when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and sea,
then He made you and me.
He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?
He knew a mother would have a special place
to shine His reflection on her child’s face.
A mother will walk the extra mile
just to see her children smile.
She’ll work her fingers to the bone
to make a house into a home.
A mother is there to teach and guide,
a mother will stay right by your side.
She’ll be there through your pain and strife,
she’ll stay constant in your life.
A mother will lend a helping hand
until you have the strength to stand.
She’ll pick you up when you are down,
when you need a friend she’ll stick around.
A mother is one who listens well,
will keep her word; will never tell.
A mother never pokes or pries
but stands quietly by your side,
giving you the strength you need,
encouraging you to succeed.
A mother is one who can be strong
when you need someone to lean on.
You’re more than a mother to me;
a reflection of Him in your face I see,
a love that knows no boundaries.
I’m glad that you chose to be
all this and more to me.
You share a love that knows no end,
you’re more than my mother,
you are my friend.

This poem is so freakin’ awesome!!  You should become a writer, man. :)   How did you come up with this?
